JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Miami Marlins announced a transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tomorrow night’s game against the Mississippi Braves at Bragan Field at 7:05 p.m.

Left-handed relief pitcher Raudel Lazo has had his contract selected from Jacksonville and called up to the major league Miami Marlins. Lazo joins the Marlins today in Atlanta for their final game of their series with the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field that is currently underway.

Lazo is 3-2 with a 2.15 ERA in 18 relief appearances for the Suns this season. In 29 and a third innings pitched, Lazo has only allowed 11 runs (seven earned) on 29 hits with seven walks compared to 32 strikeouts.

Lazo is the third 2015 Sun to get a call-up directly from Jacksonville to Miami, joining right-handed pitcher Kyle Barraclough (August 7), and Kendry Flores (June 2) on that list. This if the first call-up to the major league level in Lazo’s career.
